Rancho Alamitos AVID Graduating Class of 2010 Has Been Accepted to: CSU Dominguez Hills CSU East Bay CSU Fullerton CSU Long Beach Humboldt State Montana State University Northern Arizona University Roosevelt University UC Irvine UC Merced UC Riverside UC Santa Barbara UC San Diego Whittier College This is our first AVID graduating class and we really are going to college! AVID means Advancement Via Individual Determination. And that’s exactly what this program is all about! Ninth grade students who have an intermediate school grade point average between 2.00 and 3.00 and have strong potential to attend a four-year university are selected to participate in the AVID program. AVID students enroll in a rigorous academic program, including four-year university prep., honors, Advanced Placement classes to prepare them for direct entry in to a four-year university upon graduation from high school.
